· The Certified Legal Nurse Consultant is a registered nurse who has successfully mastered the CLNC® Certification Program developed by the company that pioneered the field of legal nurse consulting, Vickie Milazzo Institute.

· Provides medical (consulting expert only) and nursing opinions as the expert on health, illness and injury and on the inner workings of the healthcare system.

· Represents and speaks for the nursing profession.

· Educates Attorney-client, Opposing attorneys, Jurors, Plaintiffs and Defendants, Judge and Consumers.

· Upholds standards of care for the healthcare community by identifying meritorious cases and deviations from recognized standards. Which results in improved quality of care.

· Helps to ensure that the legal system uses scientific, medical and nursing information correctly and without distortion.

· Provides a cost-effective adjunct to the litigation process, while promoting justice.
