Medical Record Analysis

Screen cases for merit. Define applicable standards of care. Define deviations from/adherences to standards of care. Identify, assess what caused/contributed to the alleged damages and/or injuries. Organize, tab and paginate medical records. Summarize, translate and interpret medical records. Identify issues of tampering with the medical record. Develop written reports for use as study tools by the attorney. Identify/review relevant medical records, hospital policies and procedures, other essential documents and physical items. Identify and recommend potential defendants.

Expert Testimony and Witness Preparation

Identify types of testifying experts needed. Locate and interface with expert witnesses. Analyze and compare expert witness reports and other work products. Help prepare witnesses and experts for deposition and trial. Communicate with potential testifying experts.

Case Support

Conduct literature search and integrate the literature and standards/guidelines into the case analysis. Research and analyze validity and reliability of research studies relied on by all parties. Help in developing life care plans. Expand and update attorney’s medical library.

Medical Liaison

Consult with healthcare providers. Interview plaintiff and defense clients, key witnesses and experts. Attend/report on independent medical examinations (IMEs). Serve as liaison between the attorney and healthcare providers, testifying experts, witnesses and other consultants.

Discovery and Court Preparation

Review, analyze and summarize depositions, including past testimony. Prepare deposition and trial examination (cross or direct) questions. Prepare interrogatories and requests for production. Coordinate and assist in focus groups and mock trials. Review and draft responses to various documents and correspondence for attorney’s signature. Assist in exhibit preparation. Attend depositions, trials, review panels, arbitration and mediation hearings.
